Welcome to the website for the 2012 Terrace Park Bulldog Girls Lacrosse Teams. The following information will help to provide an overview of the program for the upcoming season. Teams: TPRC sponsors multiple youth girl lacrosse teams consisting of one to two teams of third and fourth grade girls, and two teams of fifth and sixth grade girls and some fourth grade girls. TPRC and Mariemont Lacrosse, Inc. sponsor a Junior High team composed of seventh and eighth grade girls, and this team typically consists of a Gold Squad and a Blue Squad. Season Length: March 1, 2012 to May 15, 2012 (depending on schedules). Specific start dates will be announced. Required Equipment: Stick, colored mouth guard and goggles. Goalie equipment is provided. Any girl who does not have a mouth guard or goggles will not be permitted to participate in practice or games. Skills: The girls will be taught how to catch and throw, shoot, pick up ground balls, cradle while running at full speed (with both their right and left hands), defense, and various dodging maneuvers. We will also teach offensive and defensive team and individual strategies. It is our goal to send fundamentally sound team players to our Junior High and High School programs. Players that condition and work on their stick skills between team practices experience the most growth and enjoy the most success on the field of play. Find a friend or a wall and practice the fundamentals. Citizenship and Sportsmanship: Lacrosse is a game coached and played by good people who are good citizens and students who honor the rules of good sportsmanship. Conduct of coaches, players and spectators is expected to be respectful of team members, referees, coaches and opponents. Practice and Games: Practices are as follows: 3rd/4th Graders will practice on Wednesdays & Thursdays from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. at Drackett Field. 5th/6th Graders will practice on Wednesdays & Thursdays from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. at Drackett Field. The season will kick-off with our Youth and MS Girls Lacrosse Clinic at Kusel Stadium on a Saturday or Sunday in February to be announced. Practices typically commence the first week of March. Games will be on Saturdays beginning mid-March for the 3rd/4th graders and 5th/6th graders. Games will be on Monday and Wednesdays for the 7th/8th graders, starting mid-March. The 2012 Youth and MS Schedules will be posted when available. Head Coaches: 3rd/4th Graders – Todd Coates (Cell No. – 859-912-2195 or fivecoates@gmail.com) Thanks for your participation.
